Hi, My Name is Sarah.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Psychological Sciences (Hons)

  • Master of Clinical Psychology

  • PhD candidate

I am a registered clinical psychologist with a deep passion for working with individuals, their relationships, and families. My experience spans across the lifespan, providing both assessment and psychological therapy. I bring a collaborative, person-centered, and strengths-based approach to therapy, believing strongly in each person's capacity to self-actualize within the right environment.

In our sessions, I strive to create a safe, warm, empathic, and non-judgemental space where you can comfortably explore your psychological and emotional experiences. I believe that the understanding of oneself is a vital component of personal growth. Through our work together, I aim to support you in gaining greater awareness and understanding of yourself as an individual, which can lead to building stronger, more fulfilling relationships.

I have a particular interest and extensive experience in working with children and adults on the autism spectrum, as well as their families. My diverse roles have included being a teacher-aide, inclusion support assistant, job coach, and psychologist at the Institute of Mental Health, an acute psychiatric hospital in Singapore. In these roles, I supported the needs of autistic individuals and those with intellectual disabilities. Currently, I am completing my PhD, which focuses on parenting in autistic families.

My therapeutic approach is informed by evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Additionally, my work is grounded in two foundational paradigms:

Neurodiversity-Affirming:

I am sensitive to and attuned to the differences within and between people. I embrace and continue to learn from the diverse ways people perceive and understand the world, regardless of their neurotype. I prioritize listening to my clients' lived experiences as the foundation of our work together.

What is Neurodiversity?

Attachment-Focused:

Drawing from Attachment Theory, I recognize the innate human propensity to seek comforting and safe relationships. My focus on attachment means that I prioritize the creation of a safe therapeutic alliance. It is within this safety that true exploration and healing can occur. Together, we will explore your attachment relationships and how they shape who you are today.
